Tips for success within your major and college: "Make acquaintance with your professors! They're humans, too, and I'm sure they'd love for you to introduce yourself! Also, try to find a community to be a part of while you're here! Take a look at all the organizations UNT has to offer and maybe join a few! I found a huge sense of family and belonging when I joined North Texas Television my second semester of freshman year. These guys are like my second family and I'm so blessed to be able to work with them. Your second family is out there, too! You just have to put yourself out there and find them. :)"

What I wish I knew as a freshmen: "1) Take more time for yourself to show yourself some love. Whether it's by taking a few more deep belly breaths, reading a book, taking a walk, painting/sketching, journaling, or just having a movie night to yourself… Your relationship with yourself is reflected in your relationships with others. So it's super important to develop a self-care routine in order to give yourself some time to relax. Especially during your first year of college. You are deserving of some time out of the week to show yourself some love! 2) STOP. PROCRASTINATING. For the love of everything good, stop doing your homework at the last minute. It does not benefit you in any way and it only makes you stress even more. Take the intuitive to do things ahead of time using those fancy time management skills. I know you have a bit more free time in college than in high school, but don't let that tempting "I'll just do it later" mindset turn into a habit. You're going to goof up a few times and that's fine, but try to get things done ahead of time and save yourself the stress. 3) To quote my mama, "There is no right way to do life." Meaning this journey is completely your own. Create the life YOU want to live. Do anything and everything that makes you happy. Be exactly who you are, who you want to be, unapologetically. You're going to goof up sometimes. That's just part of the gig. Mistakes are simply an opportunity for growth. Take the lesson and carry on. :)"

A campus office or service I recommend: "Some services I feel are underutilized include the Student Money Management Center and the Writing Lab. Especially in college, money can be a hassle to obtain, nevertheless keep track of. But it's important to be aware of your spending habits and to start saving now! Trust me, your future self will thank you. You can visit the Writing Lab when you're writing an essay, because- let's be honest- essays are hard sometimes! The people at the Writing Lab are there to help you polish your work and make sure you're on the right track for scoring that A+!"

Career goals: "As far as career goals, I don't have anything specific in mind or planned out. I aim to keep working in the creative media industry and trust that "dream job" will find its way to me. I don't like stressing about having to have my whole life planned out at 20 years old. :) I only have a few things that I prioritize in regards to my career: it's something I enjoy doing (because you never work a day an in your life if it's something you have fun doing) and it has a positive impact on the world."

Hobbies: "A few of my hobbies include practicing mindfulness, spending time/going to concerts with my best friends, painting, photography, videography, and 60s-70s fashion. :)"
