Spanish Ambassadors

Deborah Mutombo

Contact Deborah at CLASSambassadors@unt.edu

Degree(s): Double major in Spanish and Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology

Favorite Course(s): SPAN 3001 and 4210

Something I wish I knew as a Freshman: I have to admit that I didn't know about Eagle Landing my freshman year. Now it's my go-to place for a quick bite on campus.

Why did you become an ambassador? I decided to become an ambassador so that I could be more involved with the Spanish department outside the classroom.

What is your favorite memory from your time at UNT? That would have to be time I learned to Salsa dance during a Hispanic Heritage Month event. I wasn't very good at it, but I had a fun time!

How do you plan to use your degree? I hope to assist a diverse array of students in speech therapy and to do so without a language barrier.

Mercedes Muratalla

Degree(s): B.F.A in Art History & B.A. in Spanish

Favorite Course(s): Theories of Contemporary Art

Something I wish I knew as a Freshman: I wish I knew that it was okay to be myself--the right friends will find you regardless!

Why did you become an ambassador? One of my professors reached out to me, and it sounded fun!

What is your favorite memory from your time at UNT? Working in the art gallery!

How do you plan to use your degree? I plan to pursue graduate school immediately following the completion of my undergraduate career. I aspire to work in the museum world as a director or curator.
