A: Communication Perspectives (3010), and Public Advocacy (2140) Q: What are your current academic / career goals? A: Getting my master's is the first goal, but I'm pursuing my PhD to eventually become a researcher and professor. Q: What has been the greatest reward of being a TA? A: Teaching a writing course has not only improved my writing, but also opened me up to all of my students' interests. Q: What has been the greatest challenge of being a TA? A: The workload is no joke. I schedule when I can eat and shower. To put it into perspective, I'm taking three classes, then teaching and grading three more classes for 100 other students. Q: As an undergrad, had you always considered graduate school? A: No. I enjoyed grant writing, and felt I could pursue that at a non-profit organization, but it just didn't work out. Q: What projects or research are you currently working on? A: I'm finishing up my thesis on the local fracking ban that happened a couple of years ago. I'm also working on making curriculum that teaches folks about local governments and how to get involved. Q: Are you involved with any other extracurriculars at UNT? A: I'll affiliated with UNT Improv Comedy Club, and I also enjoy the Graduate Student Council. Q: How long have you been a TA? A: Two whole years. Wow, I just had that realization. Q: What are your plans after graduating? A: I'm hoping to continue teaching while I apply for PhD programs. If I get accepted somewhere I'll start next Fall Q: What is your favorite food? A: If you put chicken in anything I will eat it, but I have a weakness for chicken stew.
