Congratulations to first year debaters Emanuel Vargas and Ronen Bowman for competing in the 80th National Debate Tournament this weekend through the end of the day!

In honor of Emanuel and Ronen continuing the long line of accomplishments at UNT Debate, please consider donating $80 to recognize their appearance at the 80th National Debate Tournament.

UNT is one of only 46 schools that have qualified to compete. The tournament is being hosted at the University of Houston, March 26-30, 2026. This is the third year in a row UNT has qualified, and UNT has participated in the tournament 41 times in the last 80 years.

This qualification reflects the extraordinary dedication and intellectual rigor of our students, who spend hundreds of hours researching complex policy issues, refining arguments, and competing against the best programs in the nation. Their success represents the strength of UNT’s long-standing commitment to debate, critical thinking, and civic engagement.
