About the Phi Alpha Theta Society:
Phi Alpha Theta is a prominent member of the Association of College Honor Societies
(ACHS). We are a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of History
through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange
of learning and ideas among Historians.
We seek to bring students, teachers and writers of History together for intellectual
and social exchanges, which promote and assist Historical research and publication
by our members in a variety of ways including conferences, scholarships, publication
opportunities, and social events.
*Membership is not limited to majors and minors in history. Anyone who meets the requirements
is invited to apply*
Undergraduate Students:
Graduate Students:
- Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.1;
- Have at least a 3.5 GPA in at least 12 hours of completed history courses; and
- Have grades no lower than a B
