His project explored on the liberational potential of Jain contemplative practices as these relate to questions of free will and determinism. Phipps relied on his own background as a certified yoga instructor to build an experiential learning component into his project. He presented his research to students and faculty in the Department of Philosophy and Religion on December 6. His accompanying poster presentation was later displayed at the Jain Cultural Fair the following year.
