FacultyPsychologyCurriculum Vitae Grant History Lab Website Education University of Tennessee - Knoxville, Tennessee (2024)   Background & Research Interests Alisa Garner, (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Psychology program in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Texas. She directs the Alcohol and Sexual Behaviors (ASB) research lab.   Dr. Garner's research examines alcohol misuse as it relates to problematic sexual behaviors including sexual aggression perpetration and risky sexual behaviors (e.g., hookups, casual sexual encounters, sexting) among high-risk populations (e.g., college students, adults with substance use disorders). She utilizes longitudinal methods (daily diary and ecological momentary assessment) and objective measures of alcohol use (transdermal alcohol monitors) to better understand the risk factors of alcohol use leading to sexual risk-tasking and assault. Dr. Garner’s research has been funded by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
