Background & Teaching Interests
Dr. Brunett is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Texas and also serves as an Undergraduate Advisor to Psychology students. Prior to teaching at UNT, she taught at the University of Texas at San Antonio as a Graduate Teaching Fellow. Her primary areas of interest are in Social Psychology, specifically Women and Gender, Intimate Relationships, and Personality. She also has a long history of student advising and mentoring, serving as an Academic Advisor at Texas State University for two years and as the Project Director of a research lab at the University of Texas at San Antonio for an additional two years where she mentored undergraduate research projects.
While she does not formally conduct research through an established lab at UNT, Dr. Brunett does maintain close collaborations with previous colleagues on ongoing research. Specifically, her research interests include intimate partner violence, sexual assault, sexual consent attitudes, and relational outcomes among LGBTQ+ identifying individuals. She continues to analyze ongoing research and publish related manuscripts through these collaborations.
