Background & Teaching Interests
Howdy! I’m Dr. Hord, a professional faculty member here in the UNT psychology department.
My work focuses on bringing 21st-century job skills to the classroom by designing
new and innovative pedagogy. Although my current role does not include research, my
previous publications and research endeavors have primarily focused on trauma, substance
use, and pedagogy.
Taking a person-centered approach to the classroom, I aspire to equip my students
with a sense of self-efficacy and curiosity about the world around them. It is a personal
goal of mine to have all students enjoy statistics and research methodology as much
as I do! When I’m not in the classroom, I can usually be found reading a fantasy/sci-fi
book, enjoying live music, or playing on a rugby pitch.
