FacultyPsychologyCurriculum Vitae Lab Website   Education University of Southern Mississippi -  Hattiesburg, Mississippi (2012)   Postdoctoral Fellowship University of Southern California (2013-2016)   Background & Research Interests Dr. Guillot is an Associate Professor and Director of the Disposition, Emotion, & Addiction Research (DEAR) Laboratory. Broadly, speaking, the DEAR Lab investigates the etiology and the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral effects of substance use and other addictive or impulsive behaviors. More specifically, the DEAR Lab is primarily interested in the pathway spanning from personality/cognitive dispositions to emotional disturbance and ending in addiction processes (e.g., substance use expectancies/motives, substance withdrawal, addictive behaviors), as well as moderation of disposition-addiction associations by positive and negative affect-related states and traits (e.g., anxiety sensitivity and positive/negative urgency). This includes an interest in individual differences in general, such as how diversity in racial/ethnic or other minority statuses (e.g., sexual orientation) and associated factors may contribute to differential interrelations between dispositions, emotions, and addictive behaviors. Secondary interests include aggression and self-harm (i.e., other behaviors that involve impulse control or self-regulation).
