Background and Teaching Interests
Hey there! I have been a lecturer in the UNT Psychology department since Fall 2025, having taught at a wide range of educational institutions before that including Holy Family University, East Texas A&M University, and Collin College. My main academic interests lie in topics around cognition, forensic psychology, and the interaction between our physical and mental selves. As an experimental psychologist, my research interests focus on eyewitness memory and its calibration with real-world experiences. Over time I have developed a passion for the teaching and mentoring side of academia but am always more than willing to dive into and talk about research! In my classes you can expect a decent number of real-world examples and popular media references, all in the interest of helping my students connect with our material and to help facilitate discussion and debate. Additionally, I try my best to build connections with my students, making sure that they know their educational journey does not have to be a path walked alone. I look forward to seeing you on campus!

Teaching
My approach to teaching has a heavy emphasis on critical thinking and real-world applications. I aim to make sure my students understand that the information they learn in the classroom isn’t just meant to sit in their brains to satisfy course requirements; it can actually be put to work in their everyday lives! My courses are meant to be collaborative, where my students and I can work together to build practical examples, critically consider all sides of contradicting positions and information, and adjust our thinking when presented with convincing evidence. Additionally, I encourage my students to take advantage of my experience and willingness to help; our students are here for a reason, and I am dedicated to helping them find their passion and reach their ultimate goals.
