Background & Research Interests
I am a licensed psychologist and associate professor in the Department of Psychology's
Counseling Psychology Program at the University of North Texas. I am principal investigator
of the Black Women's Wellness (BWell) Lab, which studies identity, identity-based
mistreatment, and counseling for women of color. I earned my PhD in counseling psychology
at the University of Houston and completed an APA-accredited internship at the University
of Florida Counseling & Wellness Center. I also completed postdoctoral fellowships
at the University of Michigan and Teachers College, Columbia University.
Racial and gender identity, identity development theory, intersectionality, multicultural
& cross-cultural counseling.
