Much of her current research and teaching focuses on issues in gender, work, and politics in the contemporary U.S. and Latin America. Dr. Sobering's work has been published by Duke University Press, Oxford University Press, and the University of Texas Press, in addition to appearing in journals likeQualitative Sociology,Social Problems, andWork & Occupations.
