Overview: Spencer Austin has served as the Graduate Program Specialist for the UNT Department of Sociology since July 2024 after previously serving as the Administrative Specialist starting in September 2022. He holds a BA in History from UNT, an MA in History from SUNY Stony Brook, and is currently a PhD candidate at SUNY Stony Brook, focusing on 19th-century French social movements. Spencer provides administrative support services for department faculty and staff and helps manage operations and advising for the graduate program, along with a variety of other responsibilities. In his free time, he works on his dissertation, enjoys movies with his wife, cares for his many houseplants, and takes walks with his dogs.
