Background & Teaching Interests
Dr. Brunett is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of North
Texas and also serves as an Undergraduate Advisor to Psychology students. Prior to
teaching at UNT, she taught at the University of Texas at San Antonio as a Graduate
Teaching Fellow. Her primary areas of interest are in Social Psychology, specifically
Women and Gender, Intimate Relationships, and Personality. She also has a long history
of student advising and mentoring, serving as an Academic Advisor at Texas State University
for two years and as the Project Director of a research lab at the University of Texas
at San Antonio for an additional two years where she mentored undergraduate research
projects.
While she does not formally conduct research through an established lab at UNT, Dr.
Brunett does maintain close collaborations with previous colleagues on ongoing research.
Specifically, her research interests include intimate partner violence, sexual assault,
sexual consent attitudes, and relational outcomes among LGBTQ+ identifying individuals.
She continues to analyze ongoing research and publish related manuscripts through
these collaborations.
