Jain Studies at UNT is able to provide paid research assistants to graduate students
in the Department of Philosophy and Religion, contingent upon availability of funds.

Lou Tonge (summer 2026) | Lou Tonge assisted with research related to the Bhagwan Adinath Animal Humanities Initiative, including conducting interviews and site visits and editing website content.
Zechen Wang (spring 2026) | Zechen Wang assisted in researching the reception of Jainism in China.
Shoshanna McIntosh (summer 2025) | This research project focused on teaching Jainism in the K-12 curriculum
through the program p4c or “philosophy for children.” While p4c typically relies on
Socratic dialogue as its central pedagogical methodology, McIntosh's research focused
on developing a p4c curriculum based on Jain models for dialogue and argumentation
including anekāntavāda and saptabhaṅgī. She is developing an article based on her
findings.
