Background & Teaching Interests
I joined the Department of Psychology at the University of North Texas in Fall 2023. I earned my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from East Texas A&M University in 2007 and have since held faculty positions at Collin College and East Texas A&M University.

Over the course of my academic career, I have taught a wide range of psychology courses, from undergraduate Introduction to Psychology to doctoral-level Dissertation Statistics. My primary teaching interests include quantitative and experimental research methods, developmental psychology, positive psychology, social psychology, cognitive psychology, and learning theories and processes.

As an educator, I am committed to fostering both the academic and personal growth of my students, encouraging them to become independent thinkers and active participants in the construction of knowledge. I value the reciprocal nature of the learning process and appreciate the intellectual engagement that emerges through classroom dialogue. It is especially rewarding for me to see students apply what they have learned to their personal lives and professional development.
In addition to teaching, my research focuses on happiness and its associated factors, cultural influences on well-being, and psychological well-being among immigrant populations in the United States.
