The Department of Anthropology is happy to offer majors the opportunity to pursue
internship experiences with academic credit towards their major requirements.
The following are requirements for students applying for consideration of academic
credit:

- Completion of ANTH 2300
- Minimum UNT G.P.A. of 3.0
- Junior Classification (60hrs.+)
- 15+ hours of ANTH Credit Completed
- Declared Anthropology Major
- Projected commitment of at least 100 total hours during the credit-earning semester
Course Seminar Experience
Students seeking to undergo their internship experience with a companion career literacy
course may do so by seeking out a position within our expansive and vetted pool of
internship partners trhough this Handshake link. Students who are offered an internship position through our pre-approved partners
will then automatically be enrolled in ANTH 4920 Internship in Anthropology with Professor Nelson for 3 credit hours. This course and the internship experience
will occur simultaneously throughout the span of the Spring semester. (NB! Homework Hotline interns will be mentored by Dr. Nuñez-Janes). Note that internship applications must be submitted and approved PRIOR to the Spring
semester's internship experience.

Research Opportunities:
ANTH 4900 Special Problems x URF
Undergraduate students interested in conducting their own independent research under
the mentorship of an Anthropology faculty member are encouraged to apply to the Undergraduate
Research Fellowship offered by the UNT Honors College. Undergraduate Research Fellows
are eligible for 3-6 hours of ANTH 4900 Special Problems credit with their mentor
throughout the research period. Fellowship applications are usually accepted during
the latter part of Spring semesters.
