Media Arts at TIFF

Join us at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2026! The trip is designed as an on-the-ground learning experience at
North America's most prestigious film festival. The GIO program is a one-week trip
that will provide students with hands-on experience at a major international film
festival and market, including major film premieres and red carpets, TIFF Industry
conference panels, master class workshops, and networking with media professionals.

Eligibility
The Fall 2026 program is open to MRTS and CBCM juniors, seniors, and graduate students.
Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.75. Students must also have completed one of the following courses before Fall 2026 OR be enrolled in one the following classes offered during Fall 2026:
- MRTS 3615 Understanding Media Industries (Fall 2026)
- MRTS 4360/5460 Global Media (Fall 2026)
- MRTS 4450/5660 Topics course in Media Industry Studies - Media Franchising (Fall 2026)
