Online Teachers Program
As part of UNT’s commitment to increase the accessibility of graduate study for Texas’s public school educators, the English department at UNT offers a 30-hour online Master of Arts (M.A.) degree.
These courses are designed specifically for Texas teachers: in addition to offering a rigorous curriculum, they emphasize practical pedagogical training and are designed to provide the flexibility needed for actively employed educators.
Admission to these programs (and enrollment in these courses) is limited to educators. Applicants must meet the university’s basic requirements for graduate admissions, but the English department will also take professional experience into account as part of a holistic review process.
Tuition support is available for qualified teachers through the UNT Dual Credit Network (DCN), a community of high school and college educators from across the state who collaborate virtually and in-person to strengthen instruction, exchange effective practices, and build dual credit pathways that help students transition confidently to college.
