ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Dow Jones News Fund is partnering with the Scripps Howard Fund and the University of North Texas Mayborn School of Journalism's Emerging Journalists Program to sponsor a multimedia high school workshop. The immersive workshop will provide rigorous training and students will produce multimedia projects. We hope to see the student work published in Texas publications. The tentative workshop dates are June 14-18, 2026 on the UNT campus in Denton.

The Mayborn School's five-part program will create a strong mentor network between students and working journalists, a series of high school workshops that will encourage and recruit new cadres bootcamps, in partnership with the national associations for Black and Hispanic journalists, opportunities for students to have their work published by major news organizations, and outreach and continuing education programs for regional high school teachers.
