Finding CLASS

The College of Liberal Arts & Socials Sciences and the UNT Career Center are excited to announce our major and career exploration week, Finding CLASS, for Spring 2024.

Finding CLASS is designed to provide students with the opportunity to discover all that CLASS has to offer and why nearly 10,000 students at UNT have chosen to pursue a degree within the college.

This career exploration week is open to all students consisting of 5 unique programs each day that are designed to showcase all that CLASS has to offer and instill both academic and professional confidence in UNT students. Each day is designed to walk you through the process of how any UNT student can tailor their degree to their professional goals.


Monday, February 19th: Finding CLASS - Virtual Faculty Panel
  • Hear from current faculty from a variety of interdisciplinary backgrounds to share their experiences in academia.
Tuesday, February 20th: Finding CLASS - Employer Networking Event
  • An opportunity to network with employers and gain information about various companies, industries, and available professional opportunities. Learn more about the value of a liberal arts degree.
Wednesday, February 21st: Finding CLASS - Alumni Dinner
  • What have former CLASS students accomplished in their careers? What jobs have alumni been able to leverage their CLASS degrees with? What values do CLASS alumni believe CLASS degrees could have on your future?
Thursday, February 22nd: Finding CLASS - Majors & Minors Fair
  • Considering changing your major? Adding a minor? Come join us to explore different majors, minors, and certificates available through CLASS.
Friday, February 23rd: Finding CLASS - End-of-Week Celebration and Student Org Fair
  • End the week with a celebration of career exploration featuring the Finding CLASS: Student Organization Fair. FREE Finding CLASS T-shirts and fun!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS):

What is the dress code for Finding CLASS?

There is no formal dress code for any of the Finding CLASS events, however, we highly recommend business casual attire for the Employer Networking Event and the Alumni Dinner.

Do I need to bring anything for any of the Finding CLASS events?

Students do not need to bring anything for the Finding CLASS events aside from your UNT student ID to check-in. For the Employer Networking Event, students might want to bring either business cards or copies of their resume to share with employers as they network.

What can I expect for the event format for the Finding CLASS events?

The Majors & Minors Fair and Celebration are both come and go events, so feel free to swing by! The Virtual Faculty Panel and Employer Networking Event will allow students to have a chance to hear directly from our panelists and ask questions and network with them during the event. The Alumni Dinner will be a seated dinner where students can network with our special guest alums.

Do I have to be a CLASS major to attend any of the Finding CLASS events?

All majors and classifications are welcome to attend!

Will there be food provided at any of the Finding CLASS events?

Food will only be provided at the Employer Networking Event and Alumni Dinner.

Will I still be able to attend if I am running late or need to leave early?

Feel free to still attend even if you cannot attend the entire event!

What events will Finding CLASS T-Shirts be handed out?

We will be handing out this year's Finding CLASS T-Shirts at the Majors & Minors Fair on Thursday, February 22nd and the Celebration on Friday, February 23rd.

How can I request accommodations for any of the Finding CLASS events?

If you require event accommodations, please contact lauren.piepenburg@unt.edu at least 7 days before the event date to request.

Where will the Finding CLASS events be taking place?

Finding CLASS will offer virtual and in-person event opportunities. The Virtual Faculty Panel will be hosted via Zoom and students can receive the meeting link by registering in Handshake. All other Finding CLASS events will be held in the Union. For more event information including times and locations, please visit Handshake or the individual event pages on the Finding CLASS website.

Do I have to register for any of the Finding CLASS events to attend?

To register for the Alumni Dinner, please click HERE and follow the instructions listed. Registration for the Alumni Dinner will close on Wednesday, February 7th. To register for the Virtual Faculty Panel and receive the meeting link, students should register in Handshake.

All other Finding CLASS events do not require registration beforehand.
