ntTV (North Texas Television) students took home 8 wins in the 17th Annual Student
Production Awards Division of the Lone Star EMMY Gala!

Nearly 800 people from all walks of the broadcast media world were on hand for this
EMMY gala, including representatives from the National Academy of Television Arts
and Sciences. They saw first-hand the excellent work produced by UNT students. The
entries of these students were judged by national panels of professional television
broadcasts, experts in their respective fields and the students are held to the same
kind of standard as EMMY winning professional broadcast media. This past year's winning

This past year's event marks 48 Student Production awards won by UNT/ntTV students
over the years. These awards are significant because they represent the work of hundreds
of UNT/ntTV students. Newscasts, special programs, public service work, entertainment
programs are all created and executed by many students who work long hours because
they are passionate about what they are learning. The students are the future of
media in the United States and their work here showcases that future.

In addition to the Lone Star Student Production Awards from the Lone Star EMMY chapter,
ntTV students won major awards on a national scale from the 2019 College Broadcasters
Incorporated. It is a national organization serving students and advisers of both
College/University and High School electronic media outlets. Judges from this national
organization singled out 6 entries from ntTV as award worthy.

Best Hard News Reporting: "Denton Airport Runway" Julian Esparza Second Place

As with all awards, these represent the hard work of dozens of students who carve
time from their academic studies and personal lives to create and execute content
that will take them into a successful career in today's media.

All these students are carrying on a legacy of creative excellence and commitment
as well as laying a foundation for those students who will become the new generation
of media practitioners from UNT and ntTV.
