Dr. Christoph Weber is the Chair of the World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures
department.
He specializes in 18th and 20th century German literature and aesthetic theory, with
special interest in the cultural representation of nature in literature and fine arts.
Currently, he is completing a book project on the literary representation of natural
disasters in 18th-century German texts.
His undergraduate classes include the Weimar Republic and the Third Reich, German
travel literature, disaster narratives (Heinrich von Kleist, Theodor Storm, Gudrun
Pausewang), and classics of German cinema.
