T. David Mason

Dr. T. David Mason was the Co-Founder and inaugural Director of UNT's Castleberry Peace Institute; the Co-Founder and inaugural Director of University of Memphis Benjamin Hooks Institute for Social Justice; and he was also named to the American Political Science Association's Task Force on Political Violence following the 9/11 attacks. He has published extensively on how civil wars end, as well as research on political protest in China. While Dr. Mason is retired, he is still working on research on civil wars, counter-insurgency strategy and book to be titled, The Ecology of Civil War, that will analyze how civil wars start, how they can be brought to an end, and what can be done to mitigate the risk of a relapse into renewed civil conflict.
