The CLASS Distribution Requirements include 3 advanced hours in Cultural Diversity
& Global Issues and 3 advanced hours in Communication & Digital Skills. These requirements
are designed to enhance students’ understanding of diverse cultures and global perspectives,
while also developing essential communication and digital skills necessary to be competitive
in the workforce.
Note: These requirements apply to students pursuing BA degrees only.
Cultural Diversity & Global Issues (3 advanced hours in one course taken at UNT)
- Courses focused on cultural diversity in regional, national, or international contexts, depending on the nature of the course.
- 3 hours from an approved Study Abroad program can substitute for this requirement.
Communication & Digital Skills (3 advanced hours in one course taken at UNT)
- Courses focused on developing written, oral, or visual communication skills using discipline-specific digital technologies.
- 3 hours of teaching methods courses (for teacher certification students) can satisfy this requirement.
