Denton, TX - The University of North Texas students majoring in courses offered through
the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) can apply for college-level
scholarships through the Executive Dean's Office, while the 15 departments and Mayborn
School offer scholarships and awards through their departments.
Through the generosity of its donors, each year, CLASS awards several scholarships
to undergraduate and grad students majoring in a field of study that is obtainable
through the college. Meanwhile, students are encouraged to contact their department
major within CLASS as additional funding opportunities may be available through their
office.
"I never could have gone to college without the help of a scholarship. That's why
I am glad that CLASS has so many scholarships and I encourage students to apply for
as many as they qualify for every year," said Tamara L. Brown, Executive Dean, College
of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences.
Some awards take financial needs into consideration; therefore, students are encouraged
to review each scholarship criteria and submit the Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA). UNT students can find more CLASS scholarship opportunities by clicking
here, and for university scholarships, click here.
Applications for the college-level scholarships will close at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March
1, 2022. Unfortunately, late applications will not be accepted, however, the acceptance
for letters of recommendation is due Friday, March 11, 2022, at 5 p.m. Students should
check deadlines for departmental scholarships as it varies by department.
