UNT's Dance program is proud to have dedicated faculty members who are not only exceptional
educators but also professional artists actively engaged with national and international
studios and companies.
Our dance faculty approach movement and teaching from a variety of perspectives and
emphasize a kinesiological and somatic approach.
We currently offer a Dance Minor and starting Fall 2026-2027 we will add a BA in Theatre with a concentration in Dance,
as well as four certificates in Studio Teaching, Choreography and Performance, Dance
Wellness, and Team Performance!
We focus on the education of the whole individual in preparation for careers in performance,
teaching, arts administration, and graduate programs.
The requirements for a Dance Minor can be found in the UNT Catalog
Coming Fall 2026
A dance certificate develops creativity, discipline, and collaboration skills while
adding a distinctive, arts-based credential.

Our faculty and students attend and present work at the American College Dance Association

Our recent guest artists include:

We have unique opportunities to learn and work on technical design and aspects of
performance such as costumes, makeup, lighting, and stage management.

We host the Chi Tau Epsilon Dance Honors Society, a philanthropic group focused on
building community at UNT and the surrounding area.
