The UNT Friends of the Humanities is an organization of lifelong learners and supporters of humanities education and research. The group is dedicated to strengthening connections between the university and the broader community, celebrating and conveying the importance of the humanities, and creating spaces for conversation and connection around humanities topics.

Why Join?

  • Opportunity to meet like-minded people who, like you, appreciate the study of history, literature, philosophy, world languages, culture, and the arts.
  • Member contributions support chronically underfunded humanities teaching, research, and public engagement.
  • Chance to support the Friends of the Humanities Launch Program, which provides monetary stipends that enable students to participate in unpaid, but invaluable, internship opportunities.

  • Learn from and exchange ideas with UNT faculty in small group settings.
  • Members choose the theme for the annual humanities showcase, “What do the humanities have to say about x?” and receive priority seating and public recognition at the event.
