Students can gain valuable professional experience by working as an intern. One, two,
or three hours of course credit are available for eligible students with approved
internship employment. The internship course, ECON 4920, can be used as elective that
contributes to your economics degree
requirements.
ECON 4920 allows students participating in an internship off-campus to earn college
credit. If you are still looking for an internship opportunity, please visit the UNT
Career Center or its website. The Department of Economics does not place students
in internships.
- The internship must involve some sort of economics content or economics related duties.
- The course grade will be P/NP.
- Upon enrollment students must select the number of internship credit hours they seek
to earn from the class.
- Earning one ECON 4920 credit hour requires 75-149.9 hours of work at the internship
during the semester.
- Earning two ECON 4920 credit hours requires 150-209.9 hours of work at the internship
during the semester.
- Earning three ECON 4920 credit hours requires > 210 hours of work at the internship
during the semester.
- Failing to meet the minimum hours for the selected SCH will result in a grade of NP.
- Students may earn a maximum of 3 semester credit hours in ECON 4920.
