York University before earning a commission as an infantry officer in the U.S. Marines.

was medically retired at the rank of major. After spending several years sailing,
Cameron returned to academia, earning a master's degree in military history from Norwich
University, after which he was accepted to the PhD program at the University of North
Texas. Cameron and his family live near Fort Worth, and he is teaching history at
Tarrant County College while completing his dissertation. An avid sailor and a licensed
