Specialty area: Modern German and Soviet political and social history, modern transnational history of Eastern Europe.
I was born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia and received bachelor and master's degrees in geology from Saint-Petersburg State University. However, my interest in geology soon had been superseded by the constantly growing interest in history, and when I immigrated to the United States in 2009, I decided to pursue a career in history. I received the master's degree in history from University of Texas at Arlington, where I wrote a thesis "Lustration Legislation in Eastern Europe and its Meaning for the Western World." I entered the doctoral program of University of North Texas at Denton in 2018 to achieve my goal of getting a PhD degree and becoming the history professor in the future. I am currently working on my dissertation in which I will continue my comparative research of lustration policies in Russia, Germany, and other Eastern European countries. I am fluent in Russian and proficient in German.
