The students in the Writers in the Schools program, generously sponsored by UNT's English Department, will be celebrating the publication of their work at our end-of-the-year reading at Patchouli Joe's Books & Indulgences on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

For those who don't know, the WITS program brings publishing writers into public school classrooms to teach the craft of writing, to encourage creativity, and to amplify the language-arts education students already receive. This year, we collaborated with seventh-grade students at Calhoun Middle School. Students' creative writing will be published in a print anthology and distributed to friends and family at this year's reading
