Integrative Studies Ambassadors

Hunter Sanchez

Contact Hunter at CLASSambassadors@unt.edu

Degree(s): Integrative Studies with fields of study in Spanish, Biology and Rehabilitation Studies

Favorite Course(s): Chemistry II, Biology I

Something I wish I knew as a Freshman: I wish I joined more organizations when I first started. Suffering from Imposter's Syndrome was the worst when I first arrived at UNT.

Why did you become an ambassador? I feel like my major is often overlooked as a last-minute option when you don't know what to do. There's so much knowledge you lose out on by limiting what you want to learn.

What is your favorite memory from your time at UNT? Lavender Leaders Retreat, I felt more emotionally secure with my identity after attending.

How do you plan to use your degree? I want to become a Compounding Pharmacist! I love learning about medicine, and I'm already certified as a sterile IV technician.

Carissa Ayala

Contact Carissa at CLASSambassadors@unt.edu

Degree(s): B.S. in Integrative Studies with a minor in Social Sciences and certificates in Latino/a & Mexican-American Studies and Legal Studies

Favorite Course(s): Academic Writing in the Humanities, Diversity Issues in Criminal Justice

Something I wish I knew as a Freshman: I wish I knew that meeting people and keeping friends is harder than it looks, so going to more social events would be helpful.

Why did you become an ambassador? I wanted to offer my help in explaining the degree, and where to find more information about how to start. For indecisive people like me, I love having this degree, and want to help others figure it out!

What is your favorite memory from your time at UNT? All of the times I would go to lunch at the Union with friends.

How do you plan to use your degree? I have this degree with concentrations in Criminal Justice, International Studies, and Latino Culture, Economy, and Policy so I'm hoping to go into Immigration Law.
